The
Helm House is located on two shaded acres adjacent to the City Park where the
Catfish Festival is held each Fourth of July enabling guests to enjoy the close
proximity of the festivities. Guests may also enjoy the swimrfming pool,
tennis courts, volleyball, basketball & covered pavilions at the park. The
walking trail and bicycling are options.
The Helm House is in Morgantown, Butler County,
Ky., on the William H. Natcher Parkway, centrally located in a nice triangle
between
Mammoth Cave,
Corvette Museum,
and the Owensboro Bluegrass Museum, and Riverfront Center. We are also not far
from
Kentucky Repertory Theatre
and The Shaker Museum.

A lot of people come to Butler County seeking their roots. We have a wonderful
genealogical library in the Butler County Library. Our Butler County Historical
& Genealogical Society owns the library and is very generous in helping folks
with their searches. As a member of the Green River Chapter National Society
Daughters of the American Revolution Christine's ancestors are very important to
her. She has recently acquired patriot bars on a total of 16 patriots who
served in the great war for independence. Those names include: John Porter,
Sr., John Porter, Jr., John Clark, Thomas Paulett, John Austin, Joseph Barnes,
Weaver Barnes, Robert Render, Jr., William Offutt, Jr., Baruch Odle, Samuel
Magruder, Richard Cope, Jacob House, Daniel Byers, Moses Taylor, Sr., and
William Beasley. We are researching other lines.
